Yarmouth Seafest
Today was yet another gorgeous (if breezy) day on the South Shore. We had a few items on the agenda, including two day camp visits, and setting up for our Yarmouth Seafest event on Saturday. First off, we headed to Plymouth, to the Plymouth Elementary School where there was a varied group of about twenty young kids. After we got set up, we gave our presentation and afterwards, played a round of Aquaculture Jeopardy. The kids did really well, and to finish up, we showed them some of our shellfish! They were really interested at that point. Then we went to a school in Belleville (Belleville Elementary School) where a summer camp was being held, and did it all over again. We heard some interesting stories from the kids at the two camps, some of them lived on Eel Lake, and knew what we were talking about when we brought up the Buoys in the harbour, and some of the counsellors had taken tours of different Aquaculture facilities in their Oceans class. Finally, we went to set up for the Yarmouth Seafest. We are right on the boardwalk on the wharf in front of Rudders restaurant. If you are in Yarmouth today, drop by and check us out!
